Student Life: Library Lead in

Our school library is accessible to all students and staff, with welcoming spaces led by a certified school librarian who provides relevant instruction, leadership, and resources to develop students' skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Student Life: Library Support

Library Support

Our library values access, inquiry, literacy, collaboration, privacy, and equity. We support staff and students by connecting them with high-quality resources and instruction to enhance their learning.

We provide the following services to support learning:

  • Instruction - Students learn how to responsibly use and evaluate resources, information, and technology tools.
  • Access to resources - Students check out library books or access digital resources that meet their academic needs or help them explore their interests.
  • Reader’s Advisory - Get suggestions for which book to read next, or which resources to use for a project.

Library Mission Statement

The mission of the Wake County Public School’s Media and Technology program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. The program is designed to support, complement, and enhance the educational philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school system.  The media and technology program makes available, through the school’s collections, a wide range of print, non-print, and technology resources on varying levels of difficulty with a diversity of appeal compatible with the different needs, interests, and viewpoints of students and teachers. Our plan will keep us organized and up to date with our collection.
